Moving in Palm Coast: what to know

Palm Coast is where we live and work, so we know it street by street. The city was planned by ITT in the late 1960s and 70s, so it’s laid out in lettered “sections.” Most streets in a section start with the same letter. That helps with directions on moving day, but the curving roads and cul-de-sacs can surprise drivers who don’t know the area.

Most of our Palm Coast moves are local: families moving up to a bigger house in the same section, retirees downsizing to a villa or condo, and new arrivals moving into newly built homes on lots that sat empty for decades.

Common Palm Coast moves we handle

  • Moving up to a bigger home in the same section, or across town from the W Section to the P Section
  • Downsizing from a family home to a single-story villa, condo or 55+ neighborhood
  • Move-ins to new construction on infill lots in Seminole Woods, Quail Hollow and Matanzas Woods
  • Moves to and from the gated communities on the Intracoastal and the Hammock
  • Single-piece furniture delivery from local stores and Marketplace sellers

Palm Coast neighborhoods we move

  • Palm Harbor (C & F Sections): Canal-front homes with boat docks and tight driveways. We plan where the truck goes so we don’t block neighbors or a narrow cul-de-sac.
  • Indian Trails (B Section): Established homes with mature oaks near Palm Coast Pkwy and I-95. We check for low branches before we back a box truck in.
  • Belle Terre & Pine Grove (P Section): Busy family neighborhoods near Town Center and the schools. We schedule around school drop-off when we can.
  • Pine Lakes (W), Lehigh Woods (R), Cypress Knoll (E): Golf-course and lake neighborhoods, popular with retirees moving to single-story homes.
  • Seminole Woods (S & U), Quail Hollow (K, Z, LL), Matanzas Woods (L): Lots of new construction on infill lots. We often move people into homes with fresh sod and unfinished driveways, so we protect the yard and floors.
  • Grand Haven, Hammock Dunes & the Hammock: Gated and guard-house communities on the Intracoastal and the barrier island. You’ll need to send crew names, a certificate of insurance (COI), and the move date to the gate ahead of time.

Local moving tips for Palm Coast

  • Toll bridge: the Hammock Dunes Bridge connects Palm Coast Pkwy to the barrier island. For moves on the Hammock we choose a route (toll bridge or SR 100 through Flagler Beach) based on the job.
  • HOA rules: many Palm Coast HOAs limit how long a moving truck can sit on the street or how early work can start. Send us your HOA rules and we’ll plan around them.
  • New-construction closings: builder closings get pushed back all the time. Tell us your target date and we’ll stay flexible as it firms up.
  • Summer heat and afternoon storms: from June to September we like early starts so we finish loading before the afternoon thunderstorms.

Palm Coast moving FAQ

Do you only move people within Palm Coast?

No. Palm Coast is home base, but we move people all over Flagler, Volusia and St. Johns counties, including Flagler Beach, Bunnell, St. Augustine, Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, Port Orange and New Smyrna Beach. Call to ask about other destinations.

Can you move me into a gated community like Grand Haven or Hammock Dunes?

Yes. Tell us the community when you book. We send the gate or HOA the crew names, vehicle info and a certificate of insurance, if they require one, before move day so we aren’t held up at the gate.

I’m moving into a new build. Can you hold my things if closing slips?

Call us as soon as your builder gives you a date. We’ll work with you on scheduling if closing moves. Ask about options for a gap of a few days.

How far ahead should I book a Palm Coast move?

Two to four weeks is comfortable for most local moves, and earlier for the end of the month or summer. Because we’re based in Palm Coast, we can sometimes fit in a short-notice move, so it’s always worth a call.

Do Palm Coast HOAs have rules about moving trucks?

Many do, including limits on how long a truck can sit on the street and what hours work can start. Rules vary by community, so send us yours and we’ll plan around them.
